Inbound Marketing is the process of using content to get found by customers. Companies engaged in inbound marketing create compelling content that draws people IN, keeps them informed, and is generally helpful and/or entertaining.
This contrasts with outbound marketing and advertising, that interrupts people with a message that is traditionally not very relevant or helpful. Marketing to the masses is what I often call it.
Examples of Inbound Marketing include:
- Creating a Fantastic YouTube Video
- The Crosby’s Molasses Blog
- Our very own Free Marketing Advice Blog
- Udi’s Facebook Page
- Creating a Free Ebook (of interest to your target audience)
- The Lindt Pinterest Page (one of my fav brands of chocolate)
- Ensuring your website is Search Engine Optimized
